Protecting Silver Lake is a community effort. SLAM works with local, state, and nonprofit organizations that contribute expertise, resources, education, conservation, and support for the long-term health of the lake and its watershed.

The Town of Madison is an important partner in protecting Silver Lake and its watershed. SLAM works with town officials, boards, departments, and residents on issues affecting the lake, its water quality, recreation, and surrounding community.

NH LAKES

NH LAKES is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring and preserving the health of New Hampshire's lakes. SLAM works with NH LAKES on lake protection, education, advocacy, and programs including Lake Host and LakeSmart.

The Nature Conservancy — Ossipee Pine Barrens

The Nature Conservancy protects more than 2,700 acres in the Ossipee Pine Barrens, including rare habitat, much of Cook's Pond, and a stream connecting it to Silver Lake. Protecting these surrounding lands helps conserve an important part of the greater Silver Lake watershed and its natural environment.

Silver Lake Boating Club

The Silver Lake Boating Club brings Madison residents together through boating, paddling, sailing, and social activities on and around Silver Lake. The club helps build connections among people who enjoy the lake and the community surrounding it.

Loon Preservation Committee

The Loon Preservation Committee works to preserve loons and their habitats throughout New Hampshire through monitoring, research, management, and public education. Its work helps protect the loons that are such a special part of life on Silver Lake.

New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol helps keep New Hampshire's waterways safe through boating-law enforcement, safety inspections, accident response, and other boating-safety activities.

The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services provides scientific, technical, and regulatory support for protecting New Hampshire's lakes and watersheds.
